The Best Period Advice I Ever Received

The best period advice I ever received came to me when I was 33 years young from a older woman beyond menopause. She graciously invited me by her house for a Sunday afternoon, and I obliged.
That Saturday before, I got my period. And day one and two are involved. I got back pain, cramps, my mood shifts, the works!

I pushed my way to the yes I gave this older woman, not wanting to disappoint her at all. And when I got there I was visibly uncomfortable and my body was cold, although the weather was 75-80 degrees.
She asked me if I was okay and was there anything she could do for me. I told her that I was on my period and was going through the symptoms.
And then she said, things to the effect of I don’t miss those days…
And she said, you know, you’d be a whole lot warmer if you wear something on your feet, you need socks and warm it keeps your womb warm. I looked down at my gold open toed sandals like they’d betray me.
From that point on, I always have something on my feet as I’m menstruating.
What’s the best period advice you ever received? I’d love to hear your thoughts, let’s make this a wealth of knowledge.
